Jigme, the founder of Bhutan Travel Adventures, has been meaningfully involved with the Tourism Industry for the last 22 years. About 16 years ago, Jigme began to research and plan the operation of his own company, but long before that, he received professional guide training in January 2000. He worked as a highly-regarded tour guide, tour leader, and general manager for other prominent tour companies in Bhutan. Jigme has explored every nook and cranny of field research and cultural tours, and he has done all the treks in Bhutan with groups of all nationalities before the inception of the company. Jigme has done a hospitality training on guest care/service delivery at high-end resorts like Amanresorts.

However, Jigme is a bit worried about some damage on the trekking, tours, and walks/hikes due to the development and changing times. Particularly, some of the old treks and day hikes are partially spoiled due to the development of motor roads and electricity. Yet, Jigme had always considered that Bhutan lies in the Himalayas, which provides opportunities for new and beautiful trekking/hiking or tours as well.

Thus, taking advantage of his country’s exotic geo-location, a couple of years ago, Jigme started discovering and venturing on some new treks, day hikes/walks, and new places, spending his time and own resources. And those newly discovered treks and places perhaps offer better experiences than the old tours/treks itineraries.
