The 5-day Nubtshona Pata Trek will take you off the beaten path by delinking from the modern developments like roads, hamlets, and electricity unlike most short treks in Bhutan. This exotic, and scenic trek will take you over a few moderate elevations passes with scenic views of snow-capped mountains including Mt. Kanchenjunga (2nd highest in the world) and deep valleys. You can even view the Tibetan border during the clear weather. The highest point is around 4445 meters, yet with some strenuous climbs, and takes you through a few Yak herder’s camps and lakes.
And eventually, you will sojourn at one of the largest and very sacred lakes nestled in the high region of peaceful Haa Valley from where few religious treasures were discovered. So this trek is not just a scenic and an adventurous trek, yet it’s also a holy trip offering you a memorable experience. If you trek from mid-spring to early fall, it’s the flower blooming season for varied alpine flowers covering the slopes of the mountains with different colors.
For a better view of the mountains and vistas, the best time for this trek are the late spring, mid to late fall beside the rich flora and fauna. This is rarely explored trek because its routes are known only quite off-late.
